If someone writes a bio about the band better be sure to know the band's history as well....Asphyx was formed by Bob Bagchus and Tonny Brookhuis in 1987. Martin van Drunen was asked to join the band in late 1990 after he left Pestilence. Theo Loomans,Bob Bagchus and Eric Daniels already signed with Century Media records in June 1990 after they recorded the unofficial Asphyx debut album Embrace the Death.

I really like the non van-drunen albums as much as the van-drunen ones. This was the frist asphyx album I 've heard, so there is a strong sentimental connection. The voice is perfect, unique and the atmosphere too dark.
