-------
This time she really tried, came home and the place was decorated.
She put his pictures in frames, even ones of his friends that she hated.
She smiled from the couch, and waited for him to come over.
He put down his suit case, and gave her a kiss on her shoulder.
"I couldn't wait to see you, my baby boy,
I'm tired of keeping score...
But every time you get home it feels to me,
like you got one foot out the door"
She taught me how to dance,
in the evening light of our little kitchen.
She whispered with her soft hands,
and told me things she'd always wished for.
Then I'd get so dizzy from those
conversations that go in circles
I'm sick of walking in to rooms seeing shifty eyes make nervous faces
"I couldn't wait to see you, my baby boy,
I'm tired of keeping score (tell me are you mine?)
it's just that everytime you get home it feels to me,
like you got one foot out the door"
She's sleeping on her own for the last 3 weeks.
couldn't stand the bed, the pillows or the sheets.
"Every time you get home,
you start you promise me that things are gonna change.
I just wait and see."
