*Sometimes I feel like I'm going back to the future*At age 19, I discovered *The Posies* and enjoyed their then released album *Frosting on the Beater* which I still have on CD. I always read here and there that *Big Star's* music has had a major influence on what will be referred to later as alternative music in the 80s and 90s: but I never really got to measure the extent of the legacy that *Big Star* has left behind to bands like *REM*, *Teenage Fanclub* and *The Posies* ... until very recently.In fact *Big Star's* records (#1 *Record*, *Radio City*, *Third* / *Sister Lovers* ...) never stopped inspiring succeeding generations of musicians despite the fact that sales of their records never took off which eventually led the band to split up in 1974.*Thirteen* is a stunningly beautiful song that resonates long in one's ears after the song ends.
