Amen. There's great music in every generation and there will always be awesome new stuff for us to get excited about, if we can only be bothered to keep looking for it. I hope I die before I become one of those boring cunts who think their generation had the monopoly on great music.

You are absolutely right, but at the same time, this romanticizing of the past's music / movies / media is about so much more than the art itself. It's the art in the context of the time- in the context of our youths. So, yes, these people need to get off their asses and make new memories with new music, to an extent- but also recognize that what they're really missing is irretrievable and about more than music.
