Clearly my ears have a lot to learn still. Fan of Metallica, fan of enter sandman (who the hell isn't honestly), and incredibly intrigued by/do often enjoy apocolyptica... but this currently sounds like a bunch of scratching in 2 contrasting tones, something their work has never sounded like to me before. I assume it'll be a similar situation to my experience with Killswitch Engage, in that my ears just go "lolwtf is this noise" up until it starts differentiating between key points and tones and starts viewing this particular piece as enjoyable. Just when I thought I had heard all these guys had to offer in contrast, yeesh.
