I think The Lake evolved from this cover, even the lyrics. The piano is practically the same. In Turning, which was later in 2006, there was a rendition of Strange Fruit in Billy Holiday's version. I like it.

he's using the piano to the lake. i adore antony, my first real vocal hero. after listening to the Buckley version of this I sorted a cover and have been performing it for months now... so to find this new take on it, is lovely.
