Tony had already enjoyed a long career as a movie actor when he was offered the role of a rising rock n roll singer in 'Idle On Parade' (1959), in which he introduced the song 'I've Waited So Long'. This song and the film soundtrack EP on Decca became UK chart hits, and launched him into a new career as a successful pop singer, during which he enjoyed two No.1 hits in the early 1960s - 'Why' and 'Do You Mind'.
