'Outta My Mind' is all about getting out of your own head and into a greater understanding of what God has for you. At the time, I didn't have a job, my wife and I had just moved to a new city and I was just not in a good headspace. I came to the songwriting session with the lyric and melody, and feeling like I had a front row seat to everyone else's happiness. This song came out of that place, and is a reminder that God has a part for each of us to play. Whatever the day holds, I've got to get 'outta my mind' and focus on the fact that God delights in me. We think we deserve more, that God owes us but the truth is God owes us nothing He gives us stuff because He loves us not because He has too. What we get is way more then we deserve.
