Forgot about this iteration of the band and I found out about them after Patton had a few albums - maybe all of them - under his belt. Reminds me of earlier Chili Peppers but I might like a bit more. Note: I hate Californication and on RHCP.

I remember being 14 years old when Mike came into the band and thinking how much I loved his energy and persona, but I missed and loved Chucks voice. I remember feeling very bittersweet about it. I guess we'll never know what heights this band may or may not have reached, with it being lead by Chuck. Obviously MP has done a superb job, but it would be interesting to see what could have been.........

Not exactly, the other crew members were very talented musicians! Even if I am a huge Patton fan, Patton isn't everything about a band! Of course, Chuck is NOTHING compared to Patton, but his voice is a acquired taste that takes some while to get used to. Nothing bad about this band pre-Patton era! :)

I love Roddy's keyboards in this. And I love the Chuck era of this band. Patton took the band to the next level but Chuck added a unique and colorful style in the early stages. Guess we should all thank Chuck for being a junky, otherwise we would have never been able to hear AD, KFAD and AOTY.
