Enjoy her music and if you feel that she cannot capture you, if her voice does not appeal to you, you should find another artist to listen to. I know many people who don't like opera music, there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Didn't anyone notice that at 3:27and1/2 the 1/8th note before the decrescendo of the C# and the b natural was a tad out of tune? Come on, everyone knows how to sing correctly EXCEPT Anna Netrebko right? You're all jealous of her pretty face and her sparkling personality. All you Schumann-Heinks know who you are, admit it! Anna flips the bird to all of you.

Wow, they sound so high. It's a pity her pitch in that range is so unreliable. Her voice has such a gorgeous color up there.

She's such a natural in many ways, but any singer should never spend too much time away from a technical 'check-up.' You need those outside ears. I think Netrebko needs to get back to a voice teacher -because I feel her technique is not as solid as it formerly was. She's begun to lean on her trademark charm and friendliness instead of keeping her gorgeous voice in tune. She's so good and capable of so much better.

I agree that Netrebko oversings this. I don't know if it's that she's indulging the post-baby size and color of her voice or perhaps she doesn't yet know how to control it. She has got to stop going for those e-flats. She's out of tune on them most of the time and they are totally unecessary.

I'll agree about the style but the Manon Requires the Same Voice that sings Traviata and butterfly.Massenet Orchestras are massive and you have to SANG....LOL

Of course, she is fantastic. But she sings this Manon in the style of Puccini's Manon. Too broad, too loud, too much. Fleming sings this with more class, but if you really want to see a charming Manon in the French style, look at Beverly Sills. Anna is great, but this is not her role.

This wasn't even D. It was somewhere inbetween D and Db... I can't listen to her, my teeth hurt. I am sorry, because I am not a man I am immune to her feminine charms :-), what remains is not particularly skillful or high quality. Justen to an awful passage around 6:15...WTF was that??? Listen to Rene Fleming doing the same roles to hear the difference. There is class and quality universes apart. Since when do we mistake a cute face for good singing (sigh)...
