Got the box set including book with all lyrics. Got it when it was first released. Glad I kept hold of it. Brilliant

I like the original version, too, but like this version, too

This album needs to be re-released on CD. Even though the movie was never put into wide release, the soundtrack stayed on the charts for quite a while, because of tracks like this, and Elton John's "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds."

Not the best sounding / best produced song... some of the sounds blaring out at around 2.5k in the frequency range could do w/ a little attenuation!

Almost forgot these three - "Home & Dry" by the late Gerry Rafferty (#28 hit in 1979 - severely underplayed), "Voices" by Cheap Trick (#32 hit in 1979/80) and "Let's Live Together" by Road Apples (#35 hit in 1976.) I apologize for going overboard on these.

Few more I'd like to add to the underplayed 70's Top 40 gems - "Renegade" by Michael Murphey (#39 hit in 1976), "Rocket Ride" by KISS (#39 hit in 1978), "It's A Long Way There" by Little River Band (#28 hit in 1976 - full LP version is awesome), "Hold On" by Ian Gomm (#18 hit in 1979), "Get Used To It" by Roger Voudouris (#21 hit in 1979), "Edge of The Universe" by Bee Gees (#26 non-disco hit in 1977), "Go Back" by Crabby Appleton (#36 hit in 1970), & "Cherry Baby" by Starz (#33 hit in 1977.)

Don't forget "Like A Sunday In Salem" by Gene Cotton (#40 hit in 1978), "Don't Ever Wanna Lose Ya" by New England (#40 hit in 1979), "Heart of The Night" by Poco (#20 hit in 1979), and "Hot Love Cold World" by the late Bob Welch (#25 hit in 1978.)

Was included in a 1976 film "All This and World War II", maybe you can find some recording of the music of this film.

@TheTalkeetna1 I checked: it was 1985. According to the source I use, there are a few songs I really like from around then but mostly mainstream stuff like "Don't Lose My Number" by Phil Collins (one of the most hilarious videos he ever made...up with Genesis videos like "Jesus He Knows Me" and "Land of Confusion") Going to listen to '79 from the Baltimore feed which usually plays all the AT40 extras. (hoping they have "Rainbow Connection" by Jim Henson/Kermit...yes it was 40 that week :p)

@TheTalkeetna1 I know of the Wings song (heck found out about "Girls School" from another countdown) and a little of the Ohio Players (also found out about "Funky Worm" and "Skin Tight" from AT40), but need to search for the others. Thanks for the hints.

@TheTalkeetna1 There are still a couple good songs that late in the 80s but I get you. Personally I sort of just love all the 70s, particularly when you hear how diverse the early 70s can be and how much is lost from the entire decade due to the super-select playlists of radio stations. But yeah: '78-'82/'83 is a great musical period and somewhat misunderstood due to not really fitting in anywhere with a lot of the music.

@TheTalkeetna1 Been listening to the Casey 70s show for years, try not to miss an episode whenever it's on with how many hidden gems it has. Just recently started with the 80s but sadly it's harder for me to catch since there are many weeks I just am not interested...both in years and music in it. Probably I'm immediately listening if it's 1980 or '81...'82 to '85 is maybe...but '86 on...most likely not.

@TheTalkeetna1 The thing is, I really like/love the jazz/pop sound of the late 70s/early 80s that sort of crept in and took over between post-disco and pre-MTV. (for example, I really like a 1980 song from that era that didn't get as much airplay called "Take a Little Rhythm"...and yeah, "Steal Away" is awesome) It's just no one really talks of that music and that era...and I was more or less comparing it to the earlier Ambrosia sound.

@TheTalkeetna1 Admittedly while I do like "How Much I Feel", listening to the first Ambrosia album sort of shows their evolution, going from a band produced by Alan Parsons for their first couple (when this was made) to more a Steely Dan/later Doobie Brothers-esque jazz-pop band by "Life Beyond LA" to...well, more a poppish band by "One-Eighty". Though I do admit: this cover is cool.

Huh. I actually like this better than the original.

@TheTalkeetna1 Lucky! I'm a 21 year old AMbrosia fan and I never even knew they did this until now! It's so awesome. If your daughter like's this I'm betting she'd like the whole first album. Mama Frog and Drink of water are two of my favourite songs! Of course, the Jabberwocky is my favourite poem, so the instant I heard Mama Frog I was hooked on it, haha!

Ambrosia hit #39 in Billboard, 4-2-77. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

Ambrosia did a wonderful job on this, which is not a surprise to me.
