Can't really think of an instance where their version has not surpassed the original..... Knockin Nails, Getting Better, BTB Wild, Centre of Your Mind, Angelina etc, the list goes on.

its very rare a cover version surpasses the original,,but on this occasion it does,,but it is no real surprise to me when you consider the huge talent of this band,,

@stephedc Interesting you saw them doing this... one of the best Beatles covers IMHO. I did not know about the Fleetwood Mac cover, is it on record anywhere? I can t find it on youtube....anyway, thanks for your information. Any cover Slade performed, was at least as good as the original, brilliant band.

One thing about Slade that we all are so willing to forget.They were the biggest band in Britain in the 7ts.Bowie boland and the beatles were just following in the wake of slade.Fact.

@funkmasterjee Why not? I have it on CD, best and most authentic cover of Martha my dear. I prefer this to the original. Maybe You should listen to that or or come up with a better version instead of posting a prejudice comment, that I think it is.
