American Idol sends "young Whitney Houston" home and Will.i.am graces the Idol stage! Hey guys thanks so much for watching your Idol recap here on ClevverMusic. The top 3 were revealed on American Idol's elimination show last night. The one Nicki Minaj dubbed "young Whitney Houston", Amber Holcomb, was eliminated. Amber didn't seem particularly shocked at the announcement, smiling and congratulating fellow contestant Kree Harrison, "Congratulations you're going home babe!" But when it was time to sing her goodbye song, Whitney Houston's "I Believe in You and Me" she broke down. She could barely finish the song and her Dad came up on stage to console her. Judges Nicki and Mariah were both in tears, finally agreeing about something. The final 3: Angie Miller, Candice Glover, and Kree Harrison will visit their hometowns on next week's show. Before the results were announced the Top 4 did an upbeat cover of Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love", here's a peek!

For some extra entertainment on the results show season 7 winner David Cook graced the Idol stage performing his new single "Laying Me Low". And as the four girls anxiously waited to hear the show results, Will.i.am took the stage and performed his Great Gatsby soundtrack song, "Bang Bang", also on his new album #willpower. The black and white retro performance saw Will in a top hat and bust some tap dancing moves. You have to see this!

We totally loved will's performance and it was refreshing to see a full percussion band on the Idol stage. And as if that wasn't enough entertainment on the show, this week's guest mentor Harry Connick, Jr. performed a new song off his upcoming album.
