Let's dance in style, lets dance for a while

Heaven can wait we're only watching the skies

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst

Are you going to drop the bomb or not?

Let us die young or let us live forever

We don't have the power but we never say never

Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip

The music's for the sad men

Can you imagine when this race is won

Turn our golden faces into the sun

Praising our leaders we're getting in tune

The music's played by the madman

Forever young, i want to be forever young

Do you really want to live forever, forever forever

Forever young, i want to be forever young

Do you really want to live forever

Forever young

Some are like water, some are like the heat

Some are a melody and some are the beat

Sooner or later they all will be gone

Why don't they stay young

It's so hard to get old without a cause

I don't want to perish like a fading horse

Youth is like diamonds in the sun

And diamonds are forever

So many adventures couldn't happen today

So many songs we forgot to play

So many dreams are swinging out of the blue

We let them come true

Forever young, i want to be forever young

Do you really want to live forever, forever forever

Forever young, i want to be forever young

Do you really want to live forever forever forever

Forever young, i want to be forever young

Do you really want to live forever, forever forever

Forever young, i want to be forever

I never knew Alphaville for any other song. I wonder why that is? Anyone know if he was a depressive guy or is it just this one song?

I first became acquainted with Alphaville and this song the year it came out - I was a Junior in high school, and two very beloved fellow students died prom night in a car crash - this son was played at their funeral. Instead of me remembering their loss, this song reminds me of all the amazing times that we all had together and they truly will be "forever young."The video, in my opinion (while kind of cheesy in subject) is one of the most visually stunning, beautiful and inclusive videos that has ever been produced. It is a shame that music videos today (when they exist) don't take the time or effort to reach such capability. Besides... who else other than Marian Gold could rock such a big, fluffy 1980's hair-don't? :-)

It has to be one of the best songs EVER produced... I can hear it over and over again, i will never get tired of it. And thank God for that.Do you want to be forever young?

I'm going to play this at my grandmothers funeral. Even with seven years of cancer and only a few weeks (maybe less) to live, she has always been so lively and young on the inside.
