Thanks Harrison. Pretty much live it was, between the three of us. By the way, it was actually recorded in 79 or 80, on a barge studio in London belonging to Virgin Records at the time.

i think i have probably listened it to it well over 10,000 times, in addition to intense scrutiny on my half-speed turntable (in the early 80s). at a certain point in time, i had transcribed every note of the album from allan. i also know every drum and bass cue intimately. i love gary husband's playing on the album, his solo on 'letters of marque' is one of my favorite drum solos of all time, and he and paul C.work the tunes to a white hot glow. it took me a while to warm up to PaulW's voiceTHO

This particular album of Holdsworth's stands up to the most repeat listens. It's just a flat-out masterpiece for all times, a classic of our age, there are no two ways about it.
