"xxx All Ages xxx" is a documentary film that explores the early Boston Hardcore music scene from the years 1981 thru 1984. Unlike earlier films that were centered on the members of the bands, this film delves into the social aspects of that particular era. The community, culture, straight edge and DIY (Do it yourself) ethic of the time are all explored in the project. The film has been in production for six months and 90% of the interviews have been shot in the Suffolk University studio in Boston. Some of the featured interviews are with renowned Author Michael Patrick McDonald (Easter Rising, All Souls), Actress Christine Elyse McCarthy, Advertising Executive Jonathan Anastas, Thrasher Magazine Editor Jake Phelps, American Hardcore Director Paul Rachman, Newbury Comics owner Michael Dreese and the Reverend Hank Pierce. Upon it's completion "xxx All Ages xxx" will be submitted to film festivals around the world as well as released on DVD with numerous extras.

I don't know much about Boston Hardcore, but it's still very much in existence no? A buddy of mine from Mass. introduced me to bands like Blood For Blood, also Death Before Dishonor, etc. People are talking about it as if it the scene doesn't exist anymore.

...was amazing. For better or worse, Boston hardcore shaped the way I looked at ( and look at), the world. I am better and worse for that. Too provincial...too angry...but fucking determined and won't let anyone tell me I don't fucking get it. Embrace how awesome it was. Grow beyond the differences. Smitty BlankTV

Having just re-watched the trailer, I'm not even sure what you're having a disagreement about. It seems like a bunch of great people talking about their experiences, hard to pin down an editorial voice from Drew, unless, like him, you believe that Boston hardcore was something special and unique. Take Drew off your Christmas card list and leave the documentary alone. Smitty BlankTV PS- I vacated Boston for college in '89, so I have no idea how the scene devolved, but I do know that it

Hay Sanacore, No idea where you're going with this, but our friend is making a documentary about a scene he was in, the way he saw it. If you don't like it, that's fine. Make your own. But don't denigrate any artists or their opinions because they don't jibe with yours. The internet gives voice to all manner of jaded fuckos. You strike me as one of those. Best, Smitty BlankTV

@skaterat494 I think that when the hc movement hit boston ,NY was stuck in that "cbgb's like - fashion punk" and you had to wait 5 years or more to listen to a real nyc hc style...(and I talk about style but remember that in boston, that isn't a big city like ny, the kids from the suburbs etc they created a huge movement...cause nobody used to give a fuck about them style, they just needed to do something... and they did it! )
