I got 'Alf' when I was 15. Fantastic album. I still have it somewhere. And this was my favorite song. Played it over and over nonstop on Saturday nights. I was an only child. Raised in a quiet suburb of Los Angeles. Divorced parents. Dad was gone on Saturday nights. I was very shy and isolated in high school. Didn't have any crowd to run with. Saturday nights, this record kept me company. From the kitchen window, I could see the lights of downtown LA only a few miles away and I knew there was something there for me. Every time I hear this song, I'm 15 again, looking out the kitchen window at the downtown lights, knowing there's a better life waiting for me.
