Proof of how great Stelling banjos are and oh by the way look at the capo and ask yourself just how true all over the fretboard a Stelling is with its compensated nut? I'll never understand why she switched to a Prucha.

In my opinion, this is the best band Krauss has had to date. If Jerry Douglas were playing with her at the time it could not have gotten any better. Adam Steffey's shirt is ridiculously awesome and he rocks. And that Stafford rhythm with his polio stricken hand. Damn. The lovely and talented Alison Brown, and Barry Bales's solid rhythm. You need one hell of a stick to beat this with!

With the exception of Barry Bales that band is just a memory. Poor ol' Alison Brown needed to work on her look. I'm sure she is a better looking lady than she appears to be here. Her look just makes Alison look prettier and that is saying something. It's Alison Krauss's look here that led to her changing her appearance with hair color, a new hair style, lots of makeup and she also lost weight. Alison Krauss and her management knew she was going to be a superstar and so she had to start working on her appearance to further her fame even more. I think Alison went to far though. She's all la-ti-da pretty, pretty these days. She morphed into some sultry songstress singing about sublime love and all. I saw Alison and her band in Daytona, FL at Bethune Cookman College. That's an African American college. Alison was not impressed with the decor of the auditorium and had made a silly comment or two about the place. I was there by myself feeling stupid and sitting beside some young lady who only made me feel more uncomfortable. And then is seemed like Alison Krauss made eye contact with me many times, and only because I was pretty close up in the middle of the auditorium. I was suprised that the show was so damned short. They only played for about 80 minutes, but ten minutes of that was some little comedy talk-fest, the kind of stuff we saw on the live dvd. So after driving about 80 miles and burning a lot of gas I was a little annoyed to see how short the show was. This was around 2005 or so, so it wasn't this old lineup at all but the modern band.

All the instrumental solos/fills on this video are 1st-rate. I think players get restless though and just move from time to time.

The matching pants were at the cleaners. Playing mandolin fills that good and that well at that tempo, he ought to be able to show up topless if he wants to. Thanks for replying. Gave me an excuse to listen to this track again: it's more fun than a flaming, overcapacity clown car.
