When I first heard and started listening to her voice back in the early 1990's, I knew it would be a lasting impression upon my music listening experience. I still can hear that voice from then come out in this song. That certain note and key reminds me of a young girl singing Steel Rails but now has been refined into who Alison has become and will be known for years to come. I was 39, facing my first of four bouts of cancer, and her music, especially Steel Rails, gave me reason to continue on.
