The best part is listening to people who personally dont like a singer's voice complain. Those who cannot do, review. If only those people could understand the power, patience, and emotion it takes to force those sounds out of one person's body, then they might understand the true talent that has been bestowed upon people such as Alice Smith and Aretha Franklin.

What is it with these black singers (Aretha Franklin etc) who feel that they have to shriek all the time, I have never heard of Alice Smith until I listened today to the CBS video of her singing a song from her new, upcoming album, 'She'. She sang with only a guitar player accompanying her, one who was off key towards the end. So, I checked out YouTube, especially looking for Alice performing Elvis Costello's 'She' only to run into another song squawkfest. Damn Alice is hot but no thanks !!.
