I don't know why you guys are going on about him being high. The only thing he was using was his microphone like he should have. Kurt was the only one using heroin that night; he said they used cocaine together that night, that's it. You can tell by looking at him. Plus, when they're on tour they can't do that shit all the time or they'll get strung out and that's a no-no on tour, especially the beginning of their world tour behind the album that broke them mainstream, 'Dirt'. Anyway, back to music discussion!

I think he was sick or he is recovering from a lost voice, they did shit loads of tours in the early 90s and everyshow Layne would sing loud and raw.

So sad to say but this was probably when he started to fall down that self defeating spiral of heavy drug addiction. I just wish an intervention could have saved him. But I hear you have to want it. And I guess he didn't get there yet. Only Mike Star could tell us? Maybe he knew more than he said? One of the pitfalls of being famous. He was a musical genious. I've yet found a singer to replace him as my favorite. RIP Layne.
