+andyinmelb I have to disagree, I think its more about how the public respond to artists/songwriters.Yes you have your vertical thinkers taking notes as to almost coin what works in the song. You have the clueless old man just having a good time but not really listening to anything but the rhythm of which he is totally out of time with. The hipster male who is most likely taking the class to impress others, mainly girls as he is more interested in what other people think so he can agree and form commonality with others.You have the Ditsy blonde that is totally missing the emotion of the song, as she sings and bobs her head whimsically to a song about loss and longing. To cut it short the teacher is the clueless guru, the arms crossed guy jealously hates on everything and finally, we have the one person that is actually listening intently. She connects, she has experienced the same pain and longing from which these words were born . She weeps at both the memories they evoke and realization that somebody understands how she feels. And that is what songwriting is all about.This video is brilliant, and all the dislike for it kind of affirms its brilliance.
