Live with sound footage of SAHB at the Whisky a Go Go Los Angeles, California in 1975 Featuring a very Under Rated Zal Cleminson. I shot this with a Super 8 sound camera. I wish I had more film.

I managed to see them five times in L.A., this being the first. My favorite rock band of all time. Great footage, thanks for posting. To those who were there, do you remember the bagpipe players coming out and trying to squeeze on stage during Anthem? The band was great but like the shooter here, I couldn't take my eyes off Cleminson. His playing and act was amazing! How about the opening band and the lead singer, when they turned out all the lights except for some black lights. He started swinging this thing around his head that was filled with black light reflective paint that ended up covering the entire place with little dots. All of the bands equipment, the walls, the audience, everything was covered in dots. Very cool and I'll never forget the entire experience.

It's amazing to me that whenever the subject of "Glam/Theatrical Rock" from the early-mid 70's comes up, everyone of course remembers Bowie, Alice Cooper, T-Rex, Slade, Roxy Music, Sweet, Queen, even Mott The Hoople to a point, but no one hardly ever mentions SAHB! One of the most underrated, talented groups from that era. Watching Zal Cleminson with his guitar wizardry and crazy, hilarious facial expressions was a show in and of itself!

To All. I am happy you all like this. It is what it is. I don't know much more I can say about it. The sound cutting out is the camera. Why it did that I don't know. The stopping and starting of the camera is me. I only had one roll and tried to get the best stuff I could.

Thanks so much for sharing this. Would this have been the tour where the band played with Zappa? That didn't go too well, I hear.

I started watching this and was so pissed off with the quality and the sound cutting out. But when I reached the end, I thought 'hang on - that is the best film I've ever seen of SAHB' I agree with Vincent's post of a few months ago. This is the only film I've seen which captures the excitement of their live gigs or even hints at the greatness of Zal's unique playing. The live album was pretty useless in this respect. Thanks so much to kamikz for posting it.
