Love Is was Alannah's first video directed by Deborah Samuel and the first of two simultaneous singles released on Atlantic Records, WMC April 1989 in Canada which helped to create her phenomenal rise to success, selling a quarter of a million records in it's third month at English radio in Canada then another quarter of a million from French radio in Quebec who instead chose Black Velvet as their first single. Supported by relentless touring & international promo helped make Alannah the only debut artist to have sold diamond (over one million) in Canada and many millions worldwide.
