Charted at #1 in June 1924. One of the best records of the year creating a song that would become forever associated with Jolson. Interestingly, "California, Here I Come" was issued as the B-side of the record, with "I'm Goin' South" taking the A-side. "I'm Goin' South" charted at #2 during the same month. Other charting versions from 1924 include: #7 for Georgie Price and #10 for the California Ramblers. In 1960, Freddy Cannon charted at #25 in the UK with a remake.

Recorded January 17, 1924.

With Isham Jones Orchestra and Buddy De Sylva on ukulele.

Written by Buddy De Sylva, Joseph Meyer and Al Jolson.

Buddy De Sylva was a fantastic Ukulele player. You can hear him more clearly at 1:53 on this song. Nice.

Heard this on The American Experience: Richard Nixon. Took a wile, but I found it.

Slower rendition than the ones I've heard over the years. Still a treat.

Nice, this is a much more rigid rendition than mine. I like it!
