Where shade once was, the oak tree in a sprawlOf death no longer writhing against the wind. The people say: "I see now. It was tall."And here and there slight nests of spring now findThemselves dependent on a severed height. The people say: "I see now. It was kind."The people praise. The people cut.Twilight comes and they haul their loads off.Through mid-air a cry...A blackcap crying out in flight,Seeking a nest that is no longer there.

Amazing, Agalloch are leaders in music, even though their underrated! They inspire me, I definitely look up to them as true passionate artists. Btw I bet the people that that down thumbed this song listened to it 5 times afterwards, in spite.

I just realized that the background voice recites the original italian poem ( "La quercia caduta" by Giovanni Pascoli) by which the lyrics of the song are inspired.Agalloch, you are just... AMAZING!

Metal bands always have the most beautiful tracks like this. Metal has the most talented musicians. Just my opinion.

Both a beautiful poem, and a touching song. 10/10, would listen for the first time again.
