Ah cool, the SP555 is a sampler not a drum machine man. It's an awesome piece of kit, I'm thinking of trading it for a SP404SX though just because my studio space is to small. The quality of the sampling is actually better then I expected especially when sampling old records.

How's the quality? I ended up getting an MPK25 for real cheap and I like it, it's decent. A MIDI controller, but whatever. I still really want to get a drum machine though

yo, I went on ebay to get my SP555 and got it for less then half the price! second hand but still in good condition and works perfectly. However if you want something new look at the SP404 SX, another very good roland sampler I have seen people beat create similar to this on that machine and it's a bit cheaper!

For sure thanks. Been trying to find a drum machine for producing, want to make it a lil' more interactive. But, man they're expensive like this SP555, cost a pretty penny. Would you have any suggestions for a good workstation thats not TOO expensive? Appreciate it

People need too stop jugding so much and open there minds to the present. J Dilla is a legend, so of course theres "Afta-1s" who innovated of past legends like dilla and came up with there own style. its a dope beat, and it does sound J Dilla influenced. ( witch makes it that much doper.) buts its a Afta-1 beat, and thats what it sounds like! no lyrics needed. its a pitcure painter as-is.
