this is not close to their best work. so sick of seeing people say this is one of their 'best songs'. you youngings need to go back in time and see who afi used to be. try something off of 'shut your mouth and open your eyes' or 'answer that and stay fashionable', or 'very proud of ya', hell even 'the art of drowning'. those are REAL afi at their best.

Personally I think their musical evolution has less to do with 'the times' and more to do with their personal growth as artists. They have grown, and changed. They are not a bunch of teens anymore - they have matured and so has their music. What I like about AFI most is exactly that diversity. I know if I am in a certain mood I can pick up one of their albums and it fits my mood. The next day, a different mood, and a different album. AFI is always growing, and that's why they are so good.

Never understood this argument. If you like a certain genre like punk then you're not just going to stop liking it all of a sudden because 'the times change'. AFI hasn't just changed they've gotten considerably worse as time has gone on. People consistently complain about them for a reason.

i like the idea of bands trying new things, but you can't please everyone, and some albums appeal to other people more than others. that Witch person is a brash and ignorant asshole though, who is to say AFI sold out, any more than they just wanted to reinvent themselves over the years? even so, i never liked Black Sails, and i can't get into Crash Love either, didn't like their overall sound, and those are years apart, yet i love Art of Drowning, Sing The Sorrow, & December Underground :-)
