Then what was Seven Churches and don't say death metal cuz you said I said they where which I didn't. And those sub genres didn't come out in the 90's retard. And sarcofago started off as thrash then became death metal as on hate. U say also claim FWOBM didn't use keyboards. Sarcofago used keyboards on the laws of scourge ex. screeches from the silence. And I grew up in the 80's and 90's You just wish u where born back then. I was listening to metal while you where still a sperm.

Fuck no Welcome to hell don't sound jack shit like the black metal album are u kidding me. The black metal album was way more thrashy then welcome to hell and had greater distortion along with better musicianship. And Anvil did play NWOBHM style metal they where influenced by that scene but they also had speed metal influences as well. Look at pain killer by judas priest thats a speed metal song but they are NWOBHM.

It has nothing to do with lyrics but more on its characteristics which most FWBM bands shared. Early FWBM Had Speed, NWOBHM, D Beat, a little UK82, Amebix style crust. Discharge has allot of dept they has to collect from bands like Hellhammer Sodom Kreator Possessed Bulldozer Onslaught Blasphemy Sacofago etc...Welcome to Hell is on the same path as the album Black Metal and Cronos used the name Black Metal to describe they're music so yeah Black Metal and Anvil was speed metal not NWOBHM :)

Anvil played traditional metal in the vein of NWOBHM although they where from canada. They helped influence thrash but did not give birth to it. Thrash was influeneced by NWOBHM metal bands like maiden, priest, grim reaper and harcore punk bands like discharge, the exploited, and black flag. Also when Welcome to hell came out no one was calling it black metal it was NWOBHM with satanic lyrics. That's like calling witchfynde and cloven hoof black metal since they had satanic lyrics.
