I have to say, I'm amused by the comments knocking Aretha for singing while the other ladies are sining. She's doing call and response. It's second nature to anyone who grew up singing in a church. In gospel, that's what backup singers are supposed to do.Fact is, Aretha's the only woman on that stage who knows how to do an improvised call and response. None of the others have the musical background that would have taught them. Celine doing call and response? Puhleeze. Celine's cutting. She's not augmenting the song. She's just trying to show off. And, it's pitiful.
