We've seen him reinterpret his work to the point where the songs are unrecognizable, but this... this is magical. His singing is melodic, his phrasing complementing the orchestra beautifully for someone with an "untraditional" singing voice. It makes you feel like you've "walked through the depths of the deepest dark forest." I've watched this maybe ten times and I just don't get tired of it. Amazing stuff.

Huh.This sounds so reminiscent of the orchestral version of "Both Sides Now" (the one from the "Love Actually" soundtrack) that was performed at some celebration of Joni Mitchell's work in 2000, and is here on YouTube.To me, they don't sound any more profound this way, they just sound like elevator music.I realize that won't be a popular opinion here, so feel free to flame away.

I saw this life on TV many many years ago when I was a very young man, there was no internet, no youtube, you had to stay up until early morning and Dylan was not on the screen very often these days, when I saw I really liked it and was very happy.
