The scene it's played in is one of my favorites of the entire show, but it is also simply a spectacular song. It manages to be haunting, romantic, depressing, and hopeful all at once. I don't think he's singing from a woman's perspective. I think he's a man in the song who is reciting what a woman told him. I think the man is dead or dying and the woman is by his side telling him these to bring comfort and telling him if he's gone she'd never find another man as wonderful as him and so on and that she'll always love him. I really love this song.

so is the guy singing from the girls point of view? cause therse that one lyric where hes like "i dont wanna wait for just another guy"if so, it makes me laugh cause it automatically makes me think of the show The Office, and when Andy Bernard (played by Ed Helms) is singing from the 8 year old girls perspective in his "falsetto" (super high) voice lmao. I think his song was about wanting his (her??) daddy to come home from war and its like a letter/song to the president i think lmao.
