I was lucky enough to see Laura at Gloucester Cathedral a few years ago, during her tour of the incredible, medieval edifices that dot our landscape like beacons of a different era. Her performance was the best thing I have ever seen live, hands down. This song in particular I cannot hear without shedding a silent tear. It evokes childhood, the pain of adolescence, and taking the first steps into the world as an adult, always knowing you'll come home one day, old, enfeebled but enriched by a full life led.

I think she shits on Ed Sheeran. And I'm a person who's prejudiced towards male singers and song writers, if I'm honest. She's on a different level to him entirely. If he was in the same section at the record shop I'd ask the staff to move all his CDs to somewhere else in the shop.
