Well, I see I'm about a year late to this party and the option to reply to anyone has expired.But, I'm going to ask anyway. In planning the attack, Starbuck said the first plan wouldn't work because it was conventional military strategy, and the Cylons would be prepared for it. But, I thought the decoy plan she used was pretty straight forward, standard stuff.So many of you out there know military strategy (or at least claim to) so I was wondering what conventional strategy *would* you recommend in this case?And, not to make you do more work when you are doing me a favor already, but could you describe it a bit, just calling it by it's name won't mean anything to us civilians.Tnx.

idk about unpredictable, i was semi surprised, but i knew something was fishy when they sent out what 10 fighters and then said that was all they had, and their were no reserves.. i was like. ?? ok where are they? curse of playing WAY to many strategy games, and reading way to much in to history and how to fight wars. you start to rewire your brain to pick up on stuff like that quickly.

I personally love the emotional segment; I think that probably the most important contribution this episode made in the long run was the Adama Family Theme ("Wander My Friends", "A Good Lighter"), which marked so many amazing, emotional scenes later in the series. The battle was quite good too, though, although weak on the overall plot IMO.

No, this is from the Season 1 Episode "The Hand of God", where the Galactica attacks a Cylon tylium refinery (on an asteroid, hence the title of this soundtrack) in order to claim tylium from the Cylons.

Remember, the Raiders themselves are living machines with biomechanical innards. Just like the Centurions and the Human model cylons, death is a traumatic and painful experience. Raiders and Centurions rather live to fight another day rather than kamakazi and be resurrected. Hence why Scar was such a salty bastard of a raider. Too many time getting killed and coming back made it a tough mother fucker wanting revenge for all its deaths.

I didn't, but there were a lot of accusations of Starbuck being a 'perfect being' thrown around in my room right afterwards.

Well, this episode also came before it was revealed that Raiders resurrect. However that did seem odd. They apparently had the vipers "clean up" the raiders... presumably implying that they needed a base and had *very* little fuel or somesuch? It's really a rather odd bit.

That and also vipers tend to beat raiders 3:1 giver take but i know for a fact any confident viper pilot can take on at least 2 raiders

@AndyHocvs The Raiders were designed as pets. Like guard dog they will hunt as a pack and destroy intruders But if there is nothing to protect they are probably programmed to return to the nearest base star

@AndyHocvs in the case of this argument, all i can say is it makes good tv, or the shock of loosing it made them all cowards and incapable of rational thought i dunno
