Billboard-charted track, not elsewhere on YouTube as of this posting. Vocal by Woody on the most popular lyrical update of the 1940 Duke Ellington instrumental "Concerto For Cootie." Stan Kenton's version on Capitol also sold well. Because Decca and Capitol were the only two majors to have settled with the musicians union by late 1943, the "recording ban" continued for both Columbia (unable to produce a competing version) and Victor (who re-titled and reissued the Ellington instrumental featuring Cootie Williams).
LP audio, originally issued on 78rpm: Decca 18578 - Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me (Ellington-Russell) by Woody Herman & his Orchestra, vocal by Woody Herman, recorded November 8, 1943
