I was always amazed at how Nathalie's voice always rose above the horrible music production on most of 10k Maniacs albums. I mean listen to a Sting album and then listen to 10k Maniacs music .... Bizarre !!!

Natalie made the band and this is a wonderful trip to better music and yes they were very understated but I guess at the time it just made them more personal to you like your own treasure. They deserved to have made more money for sure but they kept real and i respect Natalie and the band to this day for that.
