Ive heard people say that any beginning guitar player can play John Mayers songs and that he only uses 5 chords lol. I almost shit my pants laughing when I read that comment a while back. Most of Johns music is very complex even though its mostly pop rock music he does it in a very complex way and he uses tons of different chord voicings and inversions. That guy that said that a beginner could play Mayers must be fucking high or hasn't listened to any other albums than his latest ones because to play his best songs on your own you have to understand harmony and theory
