Upon leaving her four year stint portraying Mary Magdeline in the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" The gifted Yvonne Elliman wanted an image as far from saint hood and Catholicism as she could, but more importantly, an image of her own, and there was more rock in her than anybody knew. THUS, the album "Food of Love" came about. This is BY FAR one of her BEST and unfortunately, MOST OUT OF PRINT albums, so I hope you enjoy my generosity is painstakingly putting it on for you!
This s the second track off the out of print album, titled More than one, Less Than Five, a complex ballad she sings to an older man that she feels is betrayer her with his reservations about their age difference. Soft, beautiful, soulful, and full of subtle energy, there was no one better than Yvonne at this time, and you will have more than one time to listen to this gem, with less than five problems!
LYRICS
So you're older than I,
you're not alone.
People are known to fall in love,
anyway.
And if you're feeling all your years,
We'll count them: More than one, less than five...
Have you children too long,
A friend at home?
Doesn't she smile the way I do?
Anyway
And if you're watching all the hours,
We'll count them: More than one, less than five.
There's a life left to find,
all you've been searching for.
All of the answers are in me.
Ooooh...
