You Don't Own Me - Grace (No Rap Radio Edit)

For those that think this is a new song. This was originally created and sung by Lesley Gore in 1963.

If you have a song you may like shortened or parts cut out let me know in the comments. I may be able to do it for you no problem.

Feel free to check out a friend of mine's channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCChmBOguu7B9D4G4v_eqByA

This version had been edited for radio use.

Excellent cover. Grace should now follow this with a cover of HEART by RITA PAVONE.

Can I just say that I love all the mainstream versions of this song. The Leslie Gore version, the "First Wives Club" version, Grace and G-Eazy's version and the solo Grace version. I appreciate the art behind each version and, if I'm honest, I think this is a great message for people. Even in G-Eazy's rap, it's a song about female empowerment but it can be translated beyond gender roles. It inspires confidence and pride and I think that's a very important thing to promote in today's society.

I hate the skip effect. The great potential for this was absolutely ruined in the studio. Idiots.

You don't own me, you don't own me You don't own me, I'm not just one of your many toys. You don't own me, don't say I can't go with other boys. Don't tell me what to do, don't tell me what to say Please when I go out with you, don't put me on display. You don't own me.Don't try to change me in anyway. You don't own me, don't tie me down cuz I'd never stay You don't own me, I'm not just one of your many toys. You don't own me, don't say I can't go with other boys. I don't tell you what to say, I don't tell you what to do Just let me be myself, that's all I ask of you. I'm young, and I love to be young I'm free, and I love to be free To live my life the way I want, to say and do whatever I please. You don't own me You don't own me You don't own me You don't own me You don't own me
