I think you missed the point of the song. He's saying he usually is the shy mouse that is scared but that (at least during the time he wrote the song) he was feeling extroverted (and free from anxieties.)...ie, "I feel like someone else." I think it's a wonderful song. Anxious and/or introverted people have days or times where they feel powerful and really great. A lot of people can relate to this song. Anyway, that's the way I understand the song. Perhaps Mr. Partridge will weigh in here. :)

Sounds like an outtake from "Oranges and Lemons" which is meant as a very big complement. From the same time period.

If you read the band`s bio "Chalkhills and children" you`ll find that "extrovert" is hardly the word one would use to describe Andy - in fact even the mere thought of performing much less touring would make him throw up !! P.S Richard Branson should be fucked up the arse with a red hot poker for what he did to this band. They effectivley went on strike and will not record again due to that cunts fucked up business practices vis a vis thier contract. Eat shit and die you prick

Those are some wicked unusual guitar chords that open this number. That has to be some unusual tuning, I would guess. I read Andy sang this while drunk. Apparently, he had to drink himself into extroversion. Whatever the case, the results are a thrill to hear.

Underrated band. I think this is their best song.
