Drum cover of "Woman, Woman" is a song recorded by Gary Puckett & The Union Gap for their 1968 album, Woman, Woman. The song went to #3 in Cash Box and #4 on The Billboard Hot 100 in early 1968.

There are over 30 drum fills in this song. I tried to play them as exactly as Hal Blaine did.

I triggered a customized kit from Addictive Drums 2.

The fabulous Wrecking Crew is on the session. This particular group of L.A. session musicians played on every hit song, TV theme, movie soundtrack, commercial that came out of Los Angeles in the 60 & 70s.

Sal, thank you for that song. It is such a great song, and I didn't realize how much there was going on with the drums on it till I saw this clip.

RYTH! - My brother! nice switch there ... Loved this song and the big pipes on Puckett. As always a lil trivia .Compare this track and Gary Puckett's voice and then listen to anything by Los Bravos (Black is Black, Bring a lil Lovin') The question .. Is it the same guy ?The other big one by GP&UG "Young Girl" - was a pedophelia song(!) and no one realized it, until after 9/11/2001 when they did the whole list of "songs NOT to play on Radio" and Black is Black was also banned due to the fact that no one knew if Puckett and Mike Kennedy (from Black is Black) was the same guy. hey , I "think I am getting the Roland TD-11KV-S V - Out of nowhere my buddy Howie mendelson (now VP Sales at Sam Ash) saw my name someplace and emailed me. We were banging around 20+ years of our history together and I mentioned I had not played in a long time and he freaked ."DUDE you're a musician!" so in typical GREAT guy gesture he gave me a "Let me look at the inventory Mick, you need a Roland TD-11KV-S V- and do NOT buy any other of that shit in the market like that ALESIS shit" So I am waiting to hear from him and his "special 20 year friendship anniversary price" AMAZING the bond you build with some people in your life. I wonder if it is a Karma thing.Anywho! GREAT to hear you againOh , need your opinion ... in "Dear Prudence" Drums badly played by Sir McCartney something happens at the end, where this pretty Ringoish like accents and tight percussion just SHOWS UP! . I am betting my 'nads that some one mixed a Ringo left over in there and it was left at that. Please tell me what you think . I need to have someone eat a MARACA ! :)

Thanks for this upload. I enjoyed it very much. I like a handful of Gary Puckett's music and I actually saw him live as part of a Monkeeys reunion concert. I also don't remember if I told you this, but I have a YT channel of my own and you are featured on two playlists depending on the song. Both "Drum Covers" and "Beatles Covers".

A great job (as always) Sal. You did a wonderful job on "Hal's fills"Interesting side note - I lived in Twin Falls, Idaho in the early 90's and I got to know his mother quite well through the Rose Society- we were both members.Looking forward to your next upload.
