He tried to drug him self so he would not hear God calling. That of course didn't work. I think Elvis prayed for it all to end. It did !!!!!!!!!! God took him home. On more pain and suffering no more betrayal from so called friends.

Elvis was a Christian. He really considered sing gospel and tried out. He didn't get in. When they had an opening in their group they called Elvis but he was getting famous and stuck with what he was doing. Rock and roll. I believe Elvis loved God. He got caught up in some sin. But he was never turned loose from God.

I surely would've drifted without HIM in my life. And this song is still powerful in 2010 as it was so many years ago. Too bad todays tunes are cheap pop junk that makes you feel good & happy inside *barf*. After that plastic music disappears these gospel hymns will live on into eternity.... Elvis will always remind me of my uncle who passed on and went home to be with Jesus on December 30th 1999....I will always honour your memory from this life unto the next. Your Son Antony

My Mother had her first heart attack at the age of 48 but she lived to the age of 87. She passed away in 1995. She also loved Elvis' gospel music. <3 Maureen
