This sounds a bit different than most Winter covers, I think. As a song in the forefront of the many songs that can consistently suck the tears out of this ol' Death Folker's bushy eyes, I just had to cover it. It was rough from beginning to end, especially since I started with the keyboard track (which I didn't play). That gave a loose feel to this, but also made the timing for the acoustic guitar VERY difficult. Plus, the writing the acoustic arrangement was a bit harder than I thought, but I think it came off folky 'n all. The vid was also a bit of a beast, especially since I kept unwittingly flubbing up the track with my singing footage so that it kept going out of sync with the audio. I think there's still one out of sync part, but hey, it's death folk, so it needs a mistake or two. Anyway, here's muh labor of love -- perhaps an unnecessary reply to Strange Little Girls. In any case, now it exists.

Marie was an altar-girl growing up. Maybe I should've had her sing on this one (actually, I tried, but she opted out). Anyway, I'm with ya on the altar boy thing. Often people say Satan was the "Angel of Music", perhaps due to dubious (or outrageously imaginative) readings of Isaiah 14 and Ezekial 28. I almost remember there being something about it in Milton's Paradise Lost. I'd love to know what Tori thinks of this. She's unpredictable. Mebbe a 50/50 chance of being amused by it? Thanks tons!

Thanks so much for the support! I'm glad you appreciate the effort =o) It is odd that someone I've never met would tell me to "go die". I've noticed though it's a big YouTube thing for people to colorfully exaggerate their feelings over things that they don't like. I just tried to decode the insult and translated the first part as "I really don't like your version of this song", the second part as "because I don't like death metal vocals", and the "GO DIE" as an exclamation point. Thanks again!

I had a thought.. (rare) what would Satan sound like if he was to sing a song.. Everybody would say a monster growly voice..but i thing he would sound like a pleasant alter-boy... I wonder what Tori would think of this. Never heard the original but this is bloody good.

I don't agree at all about the "taking a shit"-thing.... I understand people not agreeing, I get that too in regards of my own cover music, but I do not understand the necessity of latrine lip. Someone proposing YOU to die, and then complaining about your artistic expression, that I do not quite understand. What bugs me most is the lack of at least some form of manners when expressing a different opinion. I like this music, Sumerias, I also like your responses ;=) thx for the effort you put in

Heh! It'd be strange if ya suddenly thought it was great ;) In my head (which is sometimes a strange place), I did it justice, but I think that most of the world would agree with you about the shitting all over a great song. Thanks again for commenting.

It may be horrendously stupid, but it was definitely fun ;) I do love ghoulish sounds, but I think I'm more fascinated by life than death I think. I might pass on the dying thing, but thanks for the advice. You've got a neat channel. I've never shot anything bigger than a BB gun, but I've always wanted to go to a gun range and give it a try. Neat accent, too! Thanks for watching, even if it wasn't your cup of tea!

No prob on the nostalgia. I always loved this one. Anything I can't do? Hmm... I can't seem to avoid potholes when I drive ;) I'm glad you liked this. I've been kicking around the idea of doing it for a while, but looking at my early cover songs, I'm glad I didn't "make up my mind" and do it back then. It's amazing how different things look and sound now that I've had about a half a year of constantly working with the software.

I agree -- existence is a miracle. It's so mysterious. I'm so glad that you liked this. You always give me such kind words :)

Wow! Thanks for the like and the fav! This was always my favorite of hers too. I'm not even sure what chords I used to come up with the accompaniment -- I just sorta experimented. I'd love to hear you cover this one!
