@ErmisLeventakis On the studio version of this song there are samples of someone reading excerpts from the book in French at the beginning and middle of the song. It is actually off a recording Camus himself did in April, 1954. Highly recommended, if you speak French, to try to track that down, it is fairly easy to get a hold of.

I mean, you could just stay in front of the camera wearing a tux with only a spotlight on your chin, and act the song out, and it's fab! And today there's all kind of effects that should aid on making the video a more immersive and emotional experience, and yet it's all bland. Oh the good old days...

Those things used to be so much more meaningful and truly dramatic (in a good way) back then. Nowadays it's all pastiche and acting out... no guts implied on the performance.
