those saying its a hendrix song should check their facts rilling themselves up when people say differently... jimmi hendrix's version is a cover.. the original was made by the leaves... hendrix version if you ask me is still the best of all, but its still a cover

For God's sake what's wrong with you lot? Hey Joe is a Billy Roberts song, the world and his wife have recorded it. Yes, that's Hendrix behind Pickett in the photo - so what?

That was some terribly anemic guitar. Duane Allman? Really? Ugh. The rest sounded great, though.

Ecco come gli strumenti a fiato possono modificare il genere musicale, Signori, questa è la musica dell'anima che ti penetra e non ti molla. Here's how the wind instruments can change the genre, Gentlemen, this is the music of the soul that penetrates you and you do not spring.

Jimi was always very self-critical of his singing voice. When you hear guys like Wilson singing, you know the kind of vocal geniuses he was comparing himself too. Jimi's charm won out, but he wasn't in the same universe singing wise as this guy.

Wilson just sang his ass off. God bless man. Am I going mad or is Jimi playing a Jazzmaster? Never saw him with one.

That doesn't make it any more a Jimi song than "All Along the Watchtower," which is a Bob Dylan song despite Hendrix's great cover of it. "Hey Joe" was written by Billy Roberts and/or Dino Valenti and that's whose song it is. And many bands recorded it before Jimi. Check out the version by the Music Machine from '66 which is quite similar to the Hendrix.
