William Orbit, geboren als William Mark Wainwright (Shoreditch, Hackney, 15 december 1956) is een Britse artiest, componist en producer met betrekking tot ambient, dance en pop.

Als artiest is Orbit het meest bekend vanwege zijn bewerking van Samuel Barbers Adagio for Strings, dat een grote hit werd in de mix van Ferry Corsten. Als producer en componist werkte hij met grote namen als Madonna (hij schreef grote delen van haar albums Ray of Light en Music), Blur, Oleta Adams en All Saints.
