Oh the Summer time is comming & the trees are sweetly blooming - and the wild mountain tyme grows around the blooming Heather ...will ya go Lassie go' ......one of the few songs i used to enjoy singing with my father ,sung to Bons Mother in our arms as she drew her last breaths in this world begining her journey into the next ......wonderful rendition by the high Ks and of course Finbar F ...curiously they put ...' the Dutchman " on to it '

I love this. I also like it when a female sings it. A nice, but different version is by the South African singer, Virginia Lee. Also posted on YouTube

Finbarr Clancy is a nice singer, but certainly wouldn't be among Ireland's greatest by any means. He does a fine job though.

It's actually not titled incorrectly. Wild Mountain Thyme, Will You go Lassie Go, and Purple Heather - all of these are acceptable titles. In addition, it's worth noting that the song is a variation on lyrics for the song "The Braes of Balquhither."

That doesn't make the title correct.
