This is a song honoring the survivors of the residential school system. I apologize in advance should this video contain any offensive material to those who endured the residential school experience. I felt the need to express the issue musically. Miigwetch.

Angus Jourdain Jr. is a fourth generation child of the Residential School Survivors. This song really hits home to all the survivors who were victimized in the system. I've worked with people that carried this pain and it truly reflects to all our Grandparents, Parents and Children and the community. This carries a strong message in healing for our survivors and their families. Music is a powerful healer and this song portrays both through music and its words. Angus is my nephew and the songs he writes and sings comes from within his heart, spirit, and soul. Great song for healing, Love You my nephew.

I am a survivor from the Lejac Indian Residential School from 1972-75, my number was #76, I fought like an animal caged, I cried like a child defenseless against these big people who often yelled and called me down, I was always fearing for my life and by little brothers, I was physically, sexually, mentally abused. Let people laugh, let people feel sorry, let the religion and government continue...I am still here, I have children, I speak my language, I continue to hunt, I still live

Awesome hunting song you sang Angus, it made me cry as i have seen my family cry and ask the question when they broke down. Your song really reaches the soul and I hope that your song tells the world and understands what happened to our Anishnaabe People in Canada. Miigwetch Nini!!! Nishiin Aapijaa!!! The younger generation is sharing this important history the government does not wish to share or put in history books or schools.
