On an' on, the road goes on, an' it'll go on forever

Time will show if you an' I will walk that road together

Through fire an' water, ice an' snow

Heaven above us an' Hell below

Holding on trying to walk the line, with sweet temptation running close behind

I'm talking 'bout love...oooh, love...

(chorus:)

Like a fire forever burning, a flaming heart that's yearning more an' more

A love to keep us warm on the wings of the storm

Every day and every night, I keep hoping it'll be alright

Trying to leave the past behind, still looking for some peace of mind

But destiny brought us together and promised a time that would last forever

Though it's all been said before, it's the kind of love worth fighting for

I'm talking 'bout love...ooh, love...

(chorus)

(repeat verse one and chorus)

My love will keep you warm on the wings of the storm

From the album Slip Of The Tongue released in '89.

Huge Whitesnake fan here. Can't say I've given much attention to the Slip of the Tongue album. While this song is awesome, and there are many shining moments on the album, as a whole, it doesn't have the same appeal as the 1987 album. This album is faster and harder but I'd say 1987 was somehow heavier. It was more simplistic and sometimes less is better. The guitar tone, and songs like this one, Sweet Lady Luck and Kittens Got Claws are quite reminiscent of other bands of the scene, whereas the 1987 feels more fresh and original. I'd also say David really pushed his voice on this album. As a natural baritone, he sang mostly in a higher rough tone which I think hurt the quality and longevity of his voice.

My goodness, Coverdale and and Vai were so super awesome. I just ordered this from Amazon. Forget this from my childhood. Wish I had had my father here to share it. Thank you MaidenWarrior· - From me and my Dad to you.

Questa è meravigliosa, tra le migliori in assoluto dei WS, peccato non abbia goduto di un videoclip, se lo meritava, più di altre song del gruppo. Band rock di oggi se le sognano queste sonorità cazzute!

Not a bicycle accident. He injured his wrist performing isometric piano warm up exercises. He didn't play a note on this one. I always wondered how this album would sound like with Vandenberg playing the parts instead of Vai. Less flashy but more bluesy.

My vote goes to the great, productive love, hate, love relationship between DC and John Sykes.
