Volume up please. This piece was inspired by current (May, 2011) situations in the Middle East, in particular Libya and Syria and the problems of war, terrorism and religious extremists common to numerous countries in that region of the world. In particular worry is the death of innocent civilians. While I had originally intended to show more graphic photos of two protesters killed in Libya and Syria, I decided against doing so. However, in America we are not shown the results of bombs and bullets on our "enemies," much less on our own soldiers or innocent civilians. This sanitizing of the graphic horror of violence allows American's to worry about nothing more than who was voted off of American Idol. This is not "reality." We can't handle the truth. - Apologies to Germany. Your country has banned this piece for the music.
